Language, Listening & Learning Assessment
Ages 6 to 16
This discounted screening package is suitable for children who are not coping well with the demands of school, struggling with listening or learning or generally not keeping up with their peers. This assessment is also essential for ruling out deficits in collateral areas that might readily explain a child's listening difficulties before proceeding with an APD assessment. It includes four internationally gold standard screenings that identify clinically significant difficulties in 3 critical areas that underpin academic and social success:
- Executive functions to screen for emotion, behaviour and cognitive regulation difficulties and ADHD and ASD
- Verbal ability and non-verbal abstraction to screen for cognitive / IQ / learning potential
- Oral language to screen for clinically significant communication difficulties and Language Disorder
Two of the screenings will be conducted by the Speech-Language Therapist directly with the child . The remaining two screenings are in the form of standardised rating scales to be completed by the child's parents. You will receive a formal assessment report including findings, recommendations and referrals as appropriate.
