Real-Time Online Service
Most of our services are available real-time online.
Speech-language therapy delivered via the internet is known as telehealth or telepractice. Telehealth has been around for many years, and research indicates that telehealth speech-language therapy is equally effective as, and can be even more effective than, traditional (in-person) speech-language therapy.
The Rural Broadband Initiative and Ultra Fast Broadband roll out have connected people all over New Zealand to high speed internet as of 2017, and our telehealth service is working hard to bring our Speech-Language Therapists nationwide and into areas where Speech-Language Therapists previously have not been available.

Frequently asked questions
Does online speech-language therapy really work?
Telehealth has been around for many years, and there is a growing body of evidence that indicates it is successful for growing speech, language and communication skills and making them stick. The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) have been the first professional speech-language therapy associations in the world to officially approve telepractice as a valid delivery model of speech-language therapy.
Is online speech-language therapy suitable for everyone?
A certain level of communication, attention, behaviour, vision, hearing and mouse skills are required in order to participate successfully in online sessions. Give us a ring if you are unsure about using our telehealth service, and we will gladly listen to you concerns, answer your questions and schedule a (courtesy) trial meeting.
We would like to use your online service, but we don't have a computer at home...
We can deliver Speech-Language Therapists online to any device that is connected to the internet including android devices, smart tablets and smart phones. If need be, we can meet with you on a computer at a relative's, friend's or neighbour's house. Give us a ring, and we will gladly help to find a solution that works for you. If you like, we can contact your child's school about having your child's online sessions delivered there.
